The New York State Democratic Committee today announced they have begun a new telephone calling campaign in support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's budget. The calls will continue over the course of the month and be throughout the state.
The calls are a direct appeal from Governor Cuomo. In the calls the Governor talks about how his proposed budget closes the state's massive deficit, reduces government waste and redesigns government to produce better results more efficiently.
The Governor ends by urging New Yorkers to get involved in the efforts to get the budget passed and change New York for the future.
Complete text of one of Governor Cuomo's automated calls is below:
Hello, this is Governor Andrew Cuomo.
You elected me to clean up Albany, to get the state’s economy running once again, and that’s just what we are going to do.
I have proposed a budget that closes our state deficit, and reduces government waste and inefficiency. It redesigns the government to produce real results for our money. But to get this done, I need your help and I need your voice to be heard. The special interests in Albany will resist change and you can make the difference.
Contact your state legislators and ask them to support my budget so we can reduce wasteful spending, and fix our broken education and health care systems.
And go online to “cleanupalbanynow.com” to join the fight to end wasteful spending.
I know we can change New York, I know that together we will.
Thank you for the help.
