Chairman says Brindisi demonstrates respect for Democracy
UTICA, NY: New York State Democratic Chairman Jay Jacobs has released the following statement on the concession of Anthony Brindisi in New York’s 22nd Congressional District election. Brindisi was defeated by a slim number of votes in the nation’s final undecided House of Representatives race.
"Anthony Brindisi has demonstrated, by his actions today in conceding the race for Congressional District 22 to Claudia Tenney, what good democratic values look like. Here, again, is an example of the best in our Democracy.
We don’t believe in being sore losers, making up baseless claims of fraud or otherwise undermining the legitimacy of an election. Anthony Brindisi is yet another Democrat who simply did the right thing,” said Jay Jacobs, Chairman, New York State Democratic Committee."
