Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: November 1, 2026

The New York State Democratic Committee wants everyone to be able to use nydems.org, including people with disabilities. We are working to make this website meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What we have done

  • Text and buttons meet WCAG color-contrast requirements.
  • Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline, and includes a “Skip to main content” link.
  • Images have text descriptions, and form fields have labels.
  • The homepage slideshow can be stopped with “Stop animations” in the accessibility menu, and animations stop automatically if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • The site is available in English and Spanish.

Accessibility options

Select the accessibility button (the person icon at the bottom left of every page) to:

  • make text larger,
  • turn on high contrast,
  • underline all links,
  • increase spacing between letters, words, and lines, or
  • stop animations.

Your choices are saved on your device and apply to every page.

Content from other services

Some features on this site are provided by other organizations, including donation pages, event sign-ups, polling-place lookups, and the voter-assistance chat. We choose partners that work to be accessible, but we do not control their content. If one of these services does not work for you, contact us and we will help you another way.
