“Dr. Hazel Nell Dukes was one of the most impactful leaders our State has ever seen, and I am saddened to hear of her passing. Having had the honor to know Hazel as a friend, I saw firsthand her tireless commitment to service and how vigorously she advocated on behalf of others. Dr. Dukes exemplified profound courage throughout her life, fighting and winning against oppression and racism. In this fraught political moment in American History, we would all do well to remember the lessons Hazel taught us. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, and New York will miss her greatly. I know I will.”

NY Dems Coordinated Campaign 100 Days Out Weekend of Action
NEW YORK – This past weekend, the New York Democrats Coordinated Campaign held a major Weekend of Action, connecting with voters in the state’s seven battleground districts and building momentum with fewer than 100 days till Election Day. Alongside our down ballot allies and partners in organized labor, the New York Coordinated Campaign knocked on the doors of nearly 20,000 voters throughout the Battleground region, powered by more than 500 volunteers. With 14 weeks until Election Day, NY Dems have already contacted nearly 140,000 voters.
“New York Democrats are connecting with thousands of voters per week to talk about Democrats' vision to lower costs, protect abortion rights, and hold New York House Republicans accountable for embracing MAGA extremism,” said Lizzy Weiss, Coordinated Campaign Director. “Our boots-on-the-ground turnout machine is in full swing and the energy and excitement for New York’s battleground Democrats will only continue to grow over the next four months.”

New York’s 2024 Delegates to the Democratic National Convention Endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States
Today, New York’s delegation to the 2024 Democratic National Convention voted to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic nomination for President.
During a virtual meeting this evening, Governor Hochul and leaders from the New York State Democratic Party applauded President Biden for his courage and patriotism, and rallied support for Vice President Harris as the Democratic nominee.

After conferring with elected and Party leaders from across the state, I am excited to announce my endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States. I am urging all of our state’s delegates to the National Convention to join me in uniting behind a proven leader, a partner to one of our most successful Presidents, Joe Biden, and someone who represents the ideals, principles and values of the Democratic Party.
