Nys Democratic Committee Officially Nominates U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for Reelection
Westchester, N.Y. - Today, the New York State Democratic Committee officially designated U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand as their candidate for U.S. Senator for New York. The nomination puts Gillibrand on the ballot as the official Democratic candidate.
“Since her very first day in office, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has been a relentless champion for New York families, working across the aisle to deliver real results for our state,” said NYS Democratic Committee Chair Jay Jacobs. “From delivering health benefits to 9/11 first responders and our veterans, to passing anti-gun trafficking legislation to bringing home half a billion dollars for local projects, Senator Gillibrand delivers for New York. On behalf of the NYS Democratic Committee, I am honored to designate her as our nominee for Senate and look forward to working with her for years to come.”

I’m grateful to lead the ticket in one of the most consequential elections in history and I’m confident we’ll deliver the state for President Biden and win the seats needed to win back the House.”
Gillibrand is a historic vote getter. In 2012, she set the record for the largest winning margin in New York senatorial election history, winning 72% of the vote, outperforming even President Barack Obama. In 2018, she once again decisively won reelection, earning 67% and outperforming the governor’s race.
